Piyanut Kotsan, the Director of Amnesty International Thailand said “Today we came to lay flowers in mourning the loss of Liu Xiaobo who bravely stood up for human rights and democracy. He had inspired millions globally to fight for fundamental freedoms and justice in the face of oppression. We would like to take this opportunity to urge the Chinese government to end the illegal house arrest and surveillance of Liu Xia, the wife of Liu Xiaobo.
