สองหนูน้อยกำพร้าพ่อและแม่ จากสถานการณ์ความรุนแรงชายแดนใต้ ฮากีมะห์ วัย 5 ปี และ ฆอซีบ วัย 6 ปี เผยรอยยิ้มด้วยความดีใจ เมื่อเห็นบรรดาแม่ๆป้าๆ จากเครือข่ายผู้หญิงภาคประชาสังคมเพื่อสันติภาพชายแดนใต้ไปเยี่ยมบ้าน ที่หมู่บ้านกูจิงลือปะ ต.ระแงะ อ.ระแงะ จ.นราธิวาส นานๆครั้ง ที่จะมีคนจากภายนอก กล้ำกรายไปยังชุมชนแห่งนี้ ด้วยความที่เป็นชุมชน ซึ่งอยู่ห่างไกลจากตัวเมือง ถูกโอบล้อมด้วยภูเขา และที่สำคัญเกิดเหตุรุนแรงบ่อยครั้ง จนมีผู้เสียชีวิตไปแล้วกว่า 10 คน ชุมชนและผู้คนที่นี่ จึงดูแปลกแยกและโดดเดี่ยวจากโลกภายนอก ไม่ต่างจากครอบครัวของเจ้าหนูสองคนนี้ด้วย ซึ่งเป็นครั้งแรก ที่มีโอกาสต้อนรับผู้คนจากภายนอกที่มาเยี่ยมถึงบ้าน ปัจจุบัน เด็กทั้งสองอยู่ในการดูแลของน้าสาว “สาลีมะห์” ที่กลายมาเป็นทั้งพ่อและแม่ของเด็ก สาลีมะห์บอกว่า ครอบครัวเธอถูกมองว่าเป็น “ออแฆยาฮะ” (ผู้ร้าย) ด้วยเหตุนี้การตายของพ่อเด็ก เมื่อปี 2552 ตามมาด้วยของแม่และยายเด็ก ที่โดนยิงตายพร้อมกันในสวนยางเมื่อปี 2553 จึงไม่อยู่ในเกณฑ์ที่จะได้รับการเยียวยาใดๆจากรัฐ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเงินช่วยเหลือเยียวยา ทุนการศึกษา เบี้ยยังชีพรายเดือน หรือการช่วยเหลืออื่นๆตามสิทธิที่ครอบครัวผู้ได้รับผลกระทบทั่วไปได้รับ ด้วยเหตุนี้ จึงตกเป็นหน้าที่ของสาลีมะห์ ที่ต้องดูแลหลาน ตั้งแต่สมัยที่เธอยังเป็นนักเรียนปอเนาะ วัย 15 ปี ในขณะนั้น จนถึงวันนี้ ด้วยรายได้จากการกรีดยาง วันละ 50- 100 บาท
“ฉันอยากให้หลานได้เรียนหนังสือ และเป็นเด็กดี” สาลีมะห์บอกแก่เราในวันไปเยี่ยมบ้าน

The two little orphans, five-year-old Hakeemah and six-year-old Khaseeb, gave us a big smile when visiting their home in Kucing Lepas, Ra- ngae, Narathiwat, Kucing Lepas is surrounded by mountains and has been seldom visited by outsiders as it is far from downtown. The unrest situations usually occurred in this area having caused more than ten locals dying. The village has been left alone from the outside world including the family of these orphans.
This is the first time the two little orphans welcoming visitors to their home. Now, they are under the care of aunty Saleemah who has to play roles as dad and mom of the children. Saleemah said that her family has been considered insurgents. Therefore, they were not given any remedies including financial compensation, educational scholarship, monthly allowance etc. by the Thai government from the death of these orphans’ father in 2009 followed by the death of their mom and grandmother shot in a rubber garden. Consequently, it becomes Saleemah’s responsibilities to take care of the children. At that time, Saleemah was only fifteen years old studying in Pondok (Islamic private school).
Saleemah, gaining only 50- 100 baht a day, told us that “I want them to study and be a good boy and girl”. In April, NCWP will pay them a visit again. Help us donate for children’s educational funds.
